My name is Brad Scott. I am married with four kids and almost three grandchildren. I am an ordained minister and have spent many years traveling and singing in various southern gospel quartets. I am a firefighter and EMT. I drove a school bus for 16 years. I was a sub teacher for over 20.

I became a Technician in 2002. My interest in HAM radio came when I was in emergency management. They talked about storm spotting and communications, so I signed up for a tech class. I was active for about ten years. After that I was in and out.

Last year, we had a tornado. It was pretty severe. I didn’t have a working radio. I felt completely useless.  I thought about spotting again and being able to communicate to help others in need. Now I’m hooked again.

I became a General in 2024. I became an Extra shortly there after because I was tired of accidentally going into their bands. I try to be active in various nets when I’m not working. I am active in my local club and may become an officer soon.

I was on the very first WASA net. I thought I would volunteer as a relay or NCS. I was welcomed with open arms and I appreciate that.

Thanks for welcoming me in and I’ll see you on the net! God Bless! This is K9BWS.
