I was born 1964 in Gainesville, Florida. I grew up around ham radio as my dad was a ham, K4DTM, licensed since the mid 1950s. (Mom says she’s not sure when as he was licensed when they met in ‘58. ). I always enjoyed watching and listening to sounds in his shack as a kid growing up. Dad went S/K in 2000.
I didn’t become interested in ham radio myself until 2023. I got my tech license in March of ‘24 and my general in April of ‘24. I found that my G5RV antenna worked well on 40 meters and I began the world of HF. I ran across some people on a 40meter net and found it quite interesting. They taught me a lot.
Although I’m a new ham, I enjoy helping others as I’m able. I enjoy the WASA net and hope to see it continue to grow.
I currently hold a certified general contractor license in Fl but work in the film industry in the Atlanta area supervising the building of movie sets. When I’m not working I enjoy golf and shooting. ( I have a rifle and pistol range at the QTH.)
